Getting your blog post retweeted by other bloggers is a great way to build traffic and grow your blog which is what we all desire as bloggers.

But before you scream “Bloody Liar”, let me warn you that I have not had 100 retweets before on my blog yet. I will only be sharing a technique that got me 12 retweets on one of my popular post titled, 12 bloggers reveal how and where to get blog post ideas.

Anyway, here is

How You Can Get 100 Retweets From Your Blog Post

One way of getting 100 retweets form your blog post is to

“Involve 100 People In Your Blog Post”

What the hell does this mean? How can this be done?

Well, let me put it this way, involve as many bloggers on your blog posts as possible.

Okay, I know what you’re thinking; I know what you want to ask me.

“Mk, you’re a bloody liar, how can I possibly get 100 people involved on a blog post when I only have 5 visits per day?”

Calm down. Calm down

Just let me finish.

Here Are 2 Ways You Can Get Many Bloggers (Or 100 People) To Get Involved In Your Blog Posts.

1. Blog Collaboration

Blog collaborations simply means getting many people to write or share their opinions about a common topic. The more bloggers you have involved the better.

For example, on my popular post about bloggers sharing how they get blog post ideas, I got 12 bloggers to share their ideas and then posted it on my blog.

That blog post got 12 retweets. Mostly from people who were directly involved in the blog collaboration.

I originally planned 50 bloggers for that post, if I had succeeded, I am sure I would have had at least 50 retweets.

So if you want 100 retweets or many retweets on your blog post then get 10, 30, 50 or 100 bloggers involved in a blog collaboration on your blog.

2. Competitions (Retweet And Win )

Another way you can get many retweets on your blog post is to organize a competition that people can only join or win by retweeting the post.

I haven’t done this before, so don’t even bother to ask me, but have seen some bloggers do it. I am sure this will even work better than the first method especially if the prize is great.

So go ahead and try it.

Conclusion

Even if you may not be able to organize 100 or 200 bloggers to get involved in a blog collaboration (Frankly, this ain’t an easy task ,trust me) or may not get 100 bloggers interested in your blog competition and prize, I am sure you can get a smaller number involved.

Whatever the case, the bottom line is;

If you can get many people involved in a blog project or other online projects, or if you can get people involved in something they can gain (like a blog competition), then you will get many retweets on your blog.

Thank you, and seriously, don’t call me a bloody liar.

Interesting, but I think it would be very hard to get even 50 bloggers to collaborate. I see how this would pay off and I agree you could get more people to post/ tweet if you offered up something free. I think this is easier said than done though.

      Hey Nate,
i think it is still possible to have 50 bloggers collaborate…i will be doing another collaboration soon..will be aiming for that number…i will be getting people to collaborate by just sending tweets…

  2. Nate Balcom says:

Let me know. I’d be happy to be part.

Well you just got a RT from me. These are some great points :)

  4. While these methods would work, I still think it would be difficult to pull off. In order to have a successful competition you need to have a lot of readers, probably a few hundred at least. Because most blog readers are not active participants so even if you have 50 visitors per day most of them are not likely to participate and they don’t all necessarily use Twitter either. -Jeff

Hey, I don’t understand… whats the point in retweeting? and how is it relevant to marketing?

    • Mk Akan says:

Dave, it has a lot .
firstly , marketing has a lot to do with exposure.Retweets also means exposure.Getting people to know about your blog or website involves getting exposure and serious marketing. It also means traffic which is very important on-line.
what a re-tweet does is to give you exposure usually as a link sent to people by the re-tweeter.
when a blog post is retweeted,a link to the blog can be viewed by the followers of the person re-tweeting.
Imagine if the person has 1 million followers and he or she re-tweets your post to them.
What if 100 people with over 50 000 followers re-tweet your post /link to their followers ,do you have any idea what that would mean.
It mean a lot of exposure and traffic which is important in Internet marketing.
Hope that helps Dave and thanks for asking.
