You can also do a series post. A series post is usually a number of serial posts about a particular theme or topic. It involves posting about the different steps or activities that will lead to a specific end.

For example this post is part of my blog content building guide series post.

You can do it for any kind of topic. An example of a series post is :

1.How to start a profitable blog series

Link Love Posts

This is a post where you link to other posts you enjoyed on other blogs or websites. Most likely because of the amount of information found on the post or because you believe the posts will be helpful to your readers.

These links could be from other blogs or websites in your niche or from very different niches.

Linking to other blog posts can do a lot for you as a blogger. It can build reciprocity and build a relationship with other bloggers.

Many bloggers have different names for it and may have specific days to post it.

A few live examples of link love posts are:

  1. 10 killer reads from around the web
  2. link love posts from www.myblog2day.com

Counter Intuitive Post

Like the name suggests, it is a type of blog post written intentionally to have a head on collision with laid down principles or the status quo. It is written to directly argue with laid down principles or accepted believes and practices in any niche.

In every industry, niche, subject etc there are principles, ideas, methods, sayings that are believed to be the best practices or accepted practices. This believes are often echoed by making people even the big wigs (top bloggers or Gurus) in the niche. You can write a post to directly refute this believes and practices.

There are many benefits of writing this kind of post.

1. It will attract a lot of views

Since the post is proposing something directly opposite to the popular notion, it will attract a lot of views and reaction. If what you are proposing makes sense, you post may be linked by many other bloggers in and outside your niche.

This will do a lot for your blog.

An example of counter intuitive post:

  1. content is not king

This post is part of my blog content development series. you can read other posts of this series by clicking this link  content development series.

If you have written any of these kinds of blog post  ,feel free to share a link to it in the comments.

Hey thanks for linking my Sunday link love post dude, appreciate it! I agree with your point with the “Counter Intuitive Post”, it definitely attracts a lot of views as people want to see what you’re against them.

    Well said!

    Regards,
    Lee

  2. Counter intuitive posts can definitely attract a lot of attention but you also have to be able to back it up with a real, valid opinion. You can’t just write a “This is opposite to popular opinion” title and then not be able to back it up within the post itself. And often that’s difficult because popular opinion is often the correct opinion.

      Covington,
great point ….counter intuitive posts make no sense if you cannot back it up with proof…but i will disagree with you …popular opinion is not always the right opinion ,in fact ,i think the opposite usually the case.

Thanks also for linking my post as well :)

I like how you also included counterintuitive posts because they are great for bringing in readers and keeping up a great discussion.

People will already start to build their side of the debate just from reading the article – perpetuate the debate and you’ll have a ton of comments!

I particularly use this love to see what other bloggers are thinking and talking about.
