If you could only subscribe to only blog in the blogosphere, whose blog would you choose.
This crazy question and idea came to my head some nights ago as I struggled to go to sleep.
Frankly, this is quite a difficult question considering the number of great websites and blogs in the blogosphere.
I thought about it for a while and immediately decided on the only blog I would subscribe to.
But before I reveal that blog ,I want to quickly add that I have over 10 RSS feeds on my reader and growing (I am quite picky on what I subscribe to ,It can be time consuming and distracting ).
All these feeds are from super blogs giving great information but if I was to choose only one blog I would choose Seth Godin’s blog.
WHY?
Well, if you have never heard of Seth Godin, he is a marketer, speaker, teacher, blogger, entrepreneur and author of many bestselling books.
There are 2 reasons why I would subscribe to Seth’s blog:
- The Theme of His Blog.
Seth Godin blogs about marketing, one of the most important skills anyone can learn. It is important because it doesn’t matter if you are a business man, a marketer, an author, a blogger or employee etc, you need marketing.
In fact everyone one alive is a marketer, the only difference is that some are better than others.
The thin line between success and failure of many products, services and ideas is most times divided by marketing.
- 2. His Style
Knowing a lot about something and being generous enough to give it out is great. But knowing how to give it out to people in the simplest way so that they understand with ease is greater.
This is exactly what Seth Godin does.
He is a great teacher whose blog is filled with lessons taught with practical examples, short (100 -300 words) posts all shading light on the art and science of marketing and spreading of ideas.
Quite frankly, I don’t know if there is any other blog that treats marketing and explains it the way he does.
There are alternative blogs that can give out information similar to the other blogs I subscribe to but I doubt if there is a replacement for Seth’s blog.
This is the singular reason why I choose his blog.
If you were asked to pick that one blog to subscribe to, whose blog would you pick and why?
Please share in the comment box.
A great teacher is not one who knows a lot but one who knows a lot about how to teach the little he knows
