Like the name suggests these types of post compare things. Usually things relevant to your niche or the readers of your blog. This type of post helps the reader make a decision about a purchase of a product, service, method or idea.

There may be many products or a few similar products in your niche that your readers want to choose from. You can help them make a decision by having content that compares the 2 products.

This type of post can be used to survey your readers and get responses that could help you in product creation, and even other kinds of blog content.
They question is usually answered by readers in the comments. It usually reveals opinions, ideas and information.
Thank You Post
Like the title suggests, you thank someone, people, an organization etc. for something or anything you appreciate.
For example you can thank your readers, commenter, sponsors etc.
It is just to appreciate people for what they have done for you or with you.
Recap post
This is a post type that gives a recap about activities performed sometime back on your blog. It could be a recap of your former posts, similar posts, etc.
It could be a recap:
- Of most commented post
- Most viewed posts
- Shortest post
- Most controversial post
- Recap of list posts
- Of interviews
- etc
It could be done weekly, monthly or yearly.
