Does Blogging Affect Your Health?

blogging and your healthThis   question came to me recently when I evaluated how blogging has impacted my life-negatively.

Blogging involves long hours online, most times in front of a monitor and for me lots of late nights.

This has affected my health in 2 ways

1. Eye Issues And Blogging

The eyes (needless to say) is one of the most important and delicate parts of our body. Long exposure to the rays of a computer can slowly damage this organ.

(Nowadays my eyes hurt a little when I sit for long hours)

1. Sleeping Disorder And Blogging

Sleep is another very essential activity that may be affected when you blog consistently. This is because (if you don’t outsource) you will need to do research, read other blogs, type and publish your post.

This takes a lot of time and sleep time too (especially if you have another job and is not a full time blogger)

At the end of the day you might achieve you blogging goals, fame, money and lots of time to enjoy life but might also end up with eye problems and sleeping disorders (or even worse).

This is unacceptable.

But the question is, is it possible to achieve your blogging goals with good health?

Has blogging affected you adversely?

Do you have health issue because you have been blogging?

If you don’t, how did you handle it?

Finally, what can bloggers do, use or practice to achieve their goals and still have good health at the same time.

Thanks for all your comments.

I have written a few posts about how Blogging can kill you or at least how someone’s addiction to blogging can lead to health issues that can potentially cause death. People need to take breaks and go for walks, do things that add to the overall health of self because blogging isn’t going to do that in the long run.

taking a break and rest is very essential….blogging success does not come over night so why bother working over night….lol..i think it is another way of saying work hard and and work smart…

Yes, I experience both problems. But I don’t care as long as I love what I’m doing(blogging). My advice is, spend some time to exercise.
